Rick Gardner has been actively involved in the mechanical contracting industry and has been employed full time as a Mechanical Engineer since 1989. Rick has h and s-on experience in each mechanical trade, plumbing, piping, sheet metal and service. This h and s-on experience coupled with a Mechanical Engineering degree focusing specifically on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and solar allows Rick to apply sound practical and theoretical knowledge to engineering design work. In addition to his field experience and education, Rick has extensive training in the analysis, design and implementation of energy conservation strategies. Over the years, Rick has built a proven track record in accurately predicting, through computer simulation, facility energy utilization profiles before and after retrofit. He has been directly involved in nearly every energy retrofit project completed by Gardner Engineering, Inc., in the role of both Energy Engineer and Project Engineer. Based on his accomplishments, Rick was saluted as the “Young Engineer of the Year” for 1998 by the Northern Nevada Chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
